Apolloeye padded towards the sound of trickling water, pausing to wait for Flare. Are you sure you don't want to go back? He asked. He knew her stomach was hurting from falling in the mud while she was fighting. The wind whistled through the trees, making the leaf-filled branches swirl and creak. Leaves floated down to the ground hazely(sp?) on blankets of warm leaf-bare air. Apolloeye sighed. It was a nice day, he wished he could see all the grass and trees, and the clouds. He wanted to see Flare...

Flare shook her head, scanning the area for water. She could hear it, it was faint, but she coudn't see it. The clouds had moved out of the sky, promising one day without the dangerous rain. The ground was still muddy, but most of it had dried. Flare found herself frequently washing her paws. She didn't like the mud. "No, I'm fine. Besides, there are probably poppy seeds around here somewhere." She mewed.

Apolloeye opened his mouth and tasted the air. I can't smell any, but the stream is on the other side of those bushes, He meowed, pointing with his tail. He padded up to the bushes, then paused. []W-will you go first? I don't know how close it is...I don't want to fall in...be careful...[/b]

Flare nodded, stepping through the bushes, litle twigs clinging to her pelt, and thorns scattered the ground. Turning her head, she mewed, "There are alot of thorns over here, so step lightly" Carefully, she kept going until she sat at the edge of a bank, a slightly fast flowing stream trickling along. It was wider and broader than most streams, it's wters crystal clear. "Okay, c'mere, and I'll tel you when you've gone too far" Flare joked.

Apolloeye stiffled a purr of ammusement and stepped into the thorny bushes. He carefully padded through them, once on the other side he meowed, If I went to far, I'd be in the stream. He stretched his front paws out before him, trying to determine how much room he had to manuver around. His paw met the water, and he jumped back from the icy shock. That water is freezing! he screeched as he skid to a halt.

Flare let out a mrrow of laughter, and stepped into the water. The shock hit her, and it made her gasp. "Oh wow, you're right." Flare mewed, walking in a bit farther. The water made her fur stick up on end, and it penetrated her to the bone. "I hate the water." She hissed, walking out and shaking herself like a dog. She sat down by Apolloeye, her paws looked blood stained because her fur fot darker when it was wet. Flare started to lick her paws dry.

Apolloeye let out a mrrow of laughter at Flare's gasp. I told you it was cold, didn't I? He meowed, swiping his tongue across her ears. He could hear the water splashing and lapping at the banks, threating to sweep them both away. Apolloeye crouched down by the edge and lapped from the icy water, allowing it to cool his body from the inside out. The liquid was cool in his throat, and it tasted quite fresh. The water tastes really fresh... Apolloeye meowed, amazed at how fresh it was. He had never had any water that was so fresh-tasting.

Flare crouched down next to him, lapping up the water as if it could disappear any moment. Water dripped form her chin, and splashed onto the ground. Flare stared at the water for a moment, and then, grinning, she took a massive paw and sent a small wave of water towards Apolloeye.

Apolloeye lept back as the water splashed against his pelt, soaking his face and chest. Whoa! He meowed. He stuck his paw into the water and sent splashes of water towards Flare. He laughed and stood up, shaking the water from his pelt, making clumps of fur stick out at odd angles.

Flare giggled, and right afterwards, she clamped her mouth shut. She never giggles. Her eyebrows knitted in confusion. Looking at the cat in front of her, she stried to determine how much she really liked him and whether or not he liked her. Flare grinned, passing the thought. Crouching, she slithered towards him and attempted to leap on his back.

Apolloeye dodged, he had heard her sneaking through the grass. You'll have to be quieter than that! He said, whipping around to batter her face gently with sheathed claws. The wind made the water splish and splash loudly and the leaves rustle on the trees.

Flare ducked, and reared back on her hind paws. "So will you!" She hissed playfully. The wind was tearing through the trees now, the fur of her pelt ruffling. The sun was high in the sky, filing the area with buttery sunshine, lighting up the stream, and gleaming of Flare's pelt.

Apolloeye heard Flare rear back onto her hind legs. He kicked out at where he thought her back legs were, hoping to unbalance her. He heard the wind rushing through the trees, making leaves swirl down to the ground. The water sloshed dangerously, threating to spill over the small sandy banks.

Flare felt his paw connect with her leg, and she fell backwards, landing in the water, a huge splash occuring. When the water died down around her, she was standing, chest high in the water. "Okay, now I'm going to pounce on you!" She yowled, jumping after him.

Apolloeye felt her crash into her and pin him to the ground. Just what he had wanted. Hey! He said, teasing her. He let his body go limp, hoping she would relax enough to fling her off his back. He had used this trick many times, and it always worked.
