Flare sat on the rock, a feeling of pride. She looked across at all the other cats, her enjoyment in her eyes. Being the slightly melodramatic cat that she was, she thought, 'I bet no one is as good a warrior as I will be.' A smug look on her face explained her feeligns as openly as if she'd said them.

Foxkit puffed his chest out with pride. "I am!" he replied with dignity. He looked up at ArtemisStar with his green eyes, and then looked down at the other cats around him. Who would be my mentor...? he asked himself silently.

Alright. Flare? Will you accept the responsibility of training this apprentice, teaching him the Warrior Code as you learned it, and teaching him everything you know? ArtemisStar meowed, smiling at Flare. Her gaze flicked to Foxkit, wondering if he was angry that she had chosen Flare to mentor him. She looked around the clearing quickly, eyes darting from cat to cat. Spotting Deathjaw, she smiled. He was next on her little list of cats (and foxes) to apprentice and make warriors.

Foxkit pricked his ears. Flare, his mentor? He looked down at her with his green eyes with contempt. She was young, and agile. He was happy with his mentor. He flicked his bushy tail happily and looked back to ArtemisStar with excitement in his eyes.

Flare flattened her ears in disbelief. Nuh uh. Did ArtemisStar...? Flare swallowed twice, flicked her tail, and responded, her voice stronger than she felt.
"Yes, ArtemisStar, I'll train him to be another great warrior" Flare turned to Foxpaw, and grinned crookedly, trademark of her father.

ArtemisStar smiled at Flare. Good. Now, I have one more ceremony to perform. Deathjaw? Step forward, please, She meowed, looking at the fox. She was going to make the fox an apprentice, to make sure he would follow the warrior code. She didn't want any more betrayal within the reaches of EnergyClan territory. Things like that tore the clan apart, making it weak and vunerable. She did not want to have to deal with another betrayal realization. It would be to painful.

Deathjaw carfull padded his way though the cats to get to the rock. It was strange to see a fox with all the cats. He knew most cats thought foxes were mean he was a rare kind of fox. He came to a stop at the rock his claw making a clicking noise as he walked,being in the dog family unlike a cat he could not put his claws back in the stayed out all the time. He came to a stop sweeping his long fox tail across his paws and looked up at her.

ArtemisStar meowed, looking at Deathjaw. She waited patiently for his answer, her head tipped slightly to one side and her tail brushing against the EnergyRock gently in the slight breeze.

Foxkit, now Foxpaw, looked up at his new mentor with a fire in his eyes. I'll be the best apprentice you'll ever have, Flare! he growled with pride. He meant it. He would behave, train hard, and eanr his warrior name. Foxpaw was ready to prove to his friends that he was a worthy Clan cat! Then, he looked up at Deathjaw the fox, his green eyes narrowed with curriousity. He would have the fox as a fellow apprentice!

Then from this day forth, until you become a warrior, you shall train as an apprentice. I will mentor you, ArtemisStar meowed, blinking her silver eyes. Now, Foxpaw, Deathjaw, go and find a place to sleep in the Apprentice's den. Flare, you may begin your silent vigil. With those as her parting words, she lept from the EnergyRock and padded into her den.
Apolloeye strode up to Flare and brushed his pelt against hers. See you in the morning, He meowed, swiping his tongue across her ears.

Foxpaw sat up higher with pride and padded to the apprentices den. He peeked inside and saw moss spread all throughout the den. Oh, yes! he cried out joyfully. No more sleeping in the nursery! He crashed into a pile of moss and started to settle down. Yup, this is MUCH nicer... He laid his head between his paws and began to fall asleep.
