~The scorch of frost~ Apprentice ceremony~

Burningstar pushed herself out of the hollow under the great black rock. Trees that surrounded the air valley swayed slightly in a cool breeze, and the holly bushes surrounding her den flickered as she emerged. Padding to the top of the great rock to over look through the short, red maples, she called out in a confident voice," May all cats old enough to catch prey gather for a clan meeting!"
As her voice rang out, she spotted her son in the clearing below, gazing up curiously at her with his strong gaze.

Scorchingkit felt a fire run through his veins like boiling water, the anticipation of being out of the nursery and into the wide and roomy apprentice den hitting him like the wind buffeting over the plains. His golden striped orange calico pelt bristled and his blue and green eyes sparkled like polished jewels. He couldn't wait to be known as Scorchingpaw.

Badgersoul slowly walked into the clearing, his badger-like features seemed to changed from badger-like to cat-like as his huge body was surrounded by others, making it harder to reconize him as a badger looking cat.Badgersoul noticed Scorchingpaw seemed very happy so he could eaisly guss he was going to be an apprintice.Badgersoul purred and sat down, waiting for frost to join him.


Frost slowly made her way over to Badgersoul, her stone-blind eyes glissoning like dimonds in the sunlight.Frost joined her friend Badgersoul and slowly waited to hear what she had to say.

Burningwing nodded at the cats crowding around the pitch black rock. Withdrawing a shivering breath, she let out the precious words that all kits prayed to hear uttered to them. " I, Burningstar, leader of Airclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this kit. Form this day forward, until he had earned his warrior name, this apprentice will be called Scorchingpaw, honored for his loyalty. His new mentor shall be...." Burnngstar looked out over the cats and her gaze settled on Midnightfrost." Midnightfrost, you have suffered for your blindness, though your a true warrior at heart. Do you promise to teach all you know to this apprentice?"

Scorchingkit looked over to Midnightfrost, his eyes wide with joy of getting a mentor. His smile was wide as a cresent moon and his fangs glinted like stars in the sky at night.

Frost's blind eyes sparkled with joy, then she bowed her head,"I Promise, I promise that I will teach this young tom everything I know from being in a clan from a different land to being a kittypet" she said loudly before bowing her ash colored head.

Burningstar nodded and proceeded in the meeting. " Then, Scorchingpaw, Midnightfrost is now your new mentor!" With that, she leapt gracefully off of the pitch black boulder. Her calico pelt rippled gracefully as the breeze ripped through it and her mismatched eyes sparkled as she gave her son a ecstatic smile, her happiness clear.

Scorchingpaw's eyes glittered with the same joy that reflected in Frost's eyes. He leaped forward, his orange toned pelt shivering as the light rays of sunlight spilt over him. He reached forward with his light pink nose, and felt the cool velvet of Frost's nose against his. " When will we start training?" He ask brightly, his eyes shining like coloured diamonds.

Frost smiled,"When every you feel up to it, It is your life chose when you what to do what you want.But be carful because you can never change your choise" she said and purred

Badgersoul laughted and brushed Frost's sholder for a congradulation before walking off.

Scorchingpaw blinked in confusion and slowly nodded. " And you can maybe teach me some more of your cool quotes?" He purred lightly, his muscles rippling under his pelt. The tension released him and he felt as if already he was ready to become a fully trained warrior. He leaped around the Air valley before racing up the slope to the entrance to leave. " I want to train as soon as I get something to eat! Your so cool Frost!" With that, he raced past the trees.

Frost let out a long purr then looked up blindly at the dark sky,((By that I meen her eyes look, she dosn't see the sky-oh you know what I mean!}
Frost really never belived in Starclan, yet for some odd reason she was praying to them and asking them to make her a good mentore

Scorchingpaw raced to the fresh-kill pile quickly, trying to find the best piece. Finally, he choose two plump voles, the small bodies still fresh and the smell wafting up his nostrils, relaxing his muscles. Grappling them in his jaws, he raced back down to his mentor. " He, eh goh ya une!" He mumbled through the grey vole fur.

Shard flicked her tail in thanks then once again looked {Don't get me started again} up at the sky,"Please" she whisperd before she wraped her tail around her paws and sat down.

Scorchingpaw munched thoughtfully on his mouth full of prey, tiny bones snapping in his mouth. " So," He began, swallowing the tender meat. " What should we train on first?" His bright eyes glanced over Frost's black pelt, shimmering in the sunlight. The pelts contrasted, gold of day and black of night.

Shard though for a moment,"We will be going to the traing spot for training, but we will not be battling I will be teaching your wisdom" she said before munching down on her vole,because Shard had to eat fast whe nshe was a loner so she wouldn't get caught stealing prey from the clan cats she had learned how to eat faster so soon it was gone.

Scorchingpaw nodded, and began gobbling his food down like Midnightfrost was. The fur scratched his throat, though he tried to ignore it. " Sure." He mewed with a quick breath, before gnawing at the vole again. " You sure do eat fast!" He exclaimed, then stuttering" Sorry, i didn't mean it...."

Frost just flicked her tail suddenly a flash of black and white appeared though Frost couldn't see it she could tell that someone was coming by the sound of heavy paw steps on to hard ground."Shard- you and your new apprintice need to go to Fireclan..." he said.Frost look surprise,"Badgersoul...why do we nee-" she started but was cut off by BASgersoul,"No time to explain just go!!"Frost smiled and stood up,"You herd to tom lets gets a move on"

Scorchingpaw's eyes gleamed in anticipation of his first apprentice task. His fur ruffled as a buffet of cold air rushed through it. " Come on! Lets get going!" He cried out in excitement, the sun fading rapidly in the horizon as he streaked for the tunnel to leave the camp. A thought wondered in his mind, but he pushed in away and raced forward, his heart pounding like a woodpecker.
